Problem Statement
Nigeria has a large mass land 923,768km(2) and diverse cultures. Travellers in Nigeria and foreigners coming to Nigeria are willing to explore the beautiful landscapes and attractions and it's diverse nature, but there's limitation to access in the digital space.
Nigeria is faced with the fact, few people can navigate the country while travelling. Most people have the difficulty of getting reliable, up-to-date information on their preferred destinations and go through the stress of searching
individually and getting outdated information and invalid reviews.

User Research & Insights
Surverys and Competitive analysis
I wanted to figure out what actually makes domestic travelers and urban explorers tick their daily frustrations, what drives them, and the hurdles they face trying to get around Lagos and the wider Nigerian market. By running user surveys and digging into real behavioral patterns, we gathered the exact insights needed to shape the app's core features around seamless discovery, stress-free planning, and peace of mind on the move.

To transform raw survey feedback into actionable insights, I synthesized user responses into thematic clusters. Grouping direct user quotes revealed the core pain points, mental models, and decision drivers that shape how people plan trips to unfamiliar destinations in Nigeria.

Post-Trip Review

We didn't just guess who would use NaijaVoyage—we built this persona around real people. Meet the everyday urban explorers and local travelers who are super excited to see more of Nigeria, but constantly get bogged down by messy planning, scattered info, and the stress of not knowing what to expect. Keeping this mindset front and center is how we made sure the app actually solves real-world travel friction.

Translating early user insights and structural wireframes into rough hand-drawn concepts allowed for rapid exploration of core screen layouts, navigation structures, and user flows across three distinct iterations before moving into digital prototyping.

Once we figured out the basic layout, we started building the actual screens. We built simple wireframes first just to make sure moving around the app felt easy and natural. Then, we added the final colors, clean designs, and nice little animations to bring the whole NaijaVoyage experience to life.
